BLS CERTIFICATION:

Steps for the class:

  • Have a current BLS provider Card 
  • Complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Online Course. Once registration is complete we will email you a link to access your instructor essentials course. PLEASE BRING COMPLETION CERTIFICATE THE INSTRUCTOR COURSE. 
  • Attend the in person instructor course, It includes aligning with our training center and your initial class monitoring. Class monitoring will need to be completed within a 6 months timeframe and will be scheduled by Golden State CPR. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule ,but showing up to your scheduled monitoring day is mandatory to receive your bls instructor card.

 

You must a current AHA BLS provider certification at the time of your class. No other programs are accepted (Example: Red Cross).
 
If you do not have a current AHA BLS provider certification, you can add this certification during registration for a 50$ fee and complete it before the instructor course. You will join the class an 1 hour earlier to complete this. When becoming an AHA instructor, other non-AHA certifications are not accepted.

Course overview

Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban or suburban environment. With the Wilderness First Aid class, first aid providers in a remote outdoor setting will be better prepared to respond with wilderness first aid training when faced with limited resources, longer times to care for someone, and decisions about when and how fast to evacuate an ill or injured person.

This comprehensive 16-hour wilderness first aid course meets or exceeds the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, 2017 Edition.
